Samples From Class

Vases and Faces by 9 year old
This is a beginning class on training the right brain.  It is essential to learn how to make the switch between left and right brain modes if you are to do any form of art.  This is something I teach and train for the first 6-8 weeks.  We are learning other skills at the same time, but my focus is on learning to make this shift.  If you can learn to do this, your art will improve tremendously, and a lot of the frustration that leads to the use of erasers can be avoided!  So, this is an essential core class for any of my students, regardless of past experience.  From here, we move on to bigger and better things! (As we finish the lessons in Drawing 1, we will just move right into Drawing 2.  There will not be a time change or anything, we just move right in to the next phase.)

Drawing 2

This is a continuation of Drawing 1.  We move on to explore and examine contours, edges, positive and negative spaces, and drawing what we really see, not what the left brain says we see!  We tackle some really intricate objects, and some less tricky things.
Pure Blind Contour (one of my favorite classes because it actually is hilarious!) You are not allowed to look at your paper during the entire exercise! This was a crumpled piece of paper, in case you couldn't tell.
